AI-Assisted Development

Leveraging AI as a thought partner throughout the analysis workstream to build and optimize bespoke geospatial algorithms and automation scripts, and pursuing self-directed projects that explore AI's practical applications within GIS and climate-risk analytics.

Where AI earns its place in the workflow

AI is a thought partner, not a replacement for judgment — it accelerates the repetitive work so more time goes into interpretation.

I integrate AI tools directly into my workstream — from scripting and debugging to optimizing geospatial algorithms and automation pipelines — treating them as a collaborator to move faster through the repetitive parts of analysis. Beyond day-to-day work, I pursue self-directed projects specifically to explore what AI can and can't do well within GIS, climate-risk analytics, and decision-support tooling, and to build a practical, hands-on understanding of where it adds real value.

  • Uses AI as a thought partner across the workstream to accelerate scripting, debugging, and QA.
  • Builds and optimizes bespoke geospatial algorithms and automation scripts through AI-assisted development.
  • Independently pursues self-directed projects applying AI to explore its practical applications within GIS and climate-risk analytics.
  • Applied this approach to prototype and ship this portfolio's own interactive tools and automation scripts, including the Suitability Explorer.
